Hey Tariq, this is AmiJane. As I sit here and eat my raisins previously soaked in rum. I'm gathering my thougnts, and, I have not followed this Reverend Wright deal all the way through. I have seen bits and pieces of it on CNN and have heard about it on radio shows. As of now, my thoughts are... Reverend Wright was saying some real ish and when they asked him about it I was happy he did not back down. MMhh, now if he really had Obama's best interest, he would have kept his mouth closed until the race ended. But, we both know that's too much like right. I agree with the what you say about keeping it real. That same sentiment inspired a concept for a song I have been working on. But, you can't always act how you feel... Keep it real. I know if I always acted the way I feel, I wouldn't accomplish a damn thing. And we know, thats what it's all about. PRODUCTIVIY. HOLLA!

I've heard everything Rev. Wright said and at first he was putting the white media in check. He was actually playing them and making them look like fools. However, after his speech to the National Press Club all that shit went out the window when he went through the Q&A & the swagger came out. Mocking the mediator and answering the questions in a disrespectful manner and sarcastic tone. That's what messed Obama up. Had he not did the Q&A session with the NPC or answer the questions with some damn sense & respect I think it may of helped Obama and the Black community as a whole. Everything he said except for the Q&A was pretty much on point and opened the eyes of White Americans but it all went out the window with that damn arrogance and swagger. I think he was just feeling himself too much and fucked up what could of been a good thing but has turned into a circus...

I'm glad you put this discussion on the table Tariq, the problem is that black people don't know how the world outside of the hood works. It's like you stated before, while we are playing checker by "keepin' it real" and all that nonsense, the rest of the world is playing chess and making progress.
